New to truck and tractor pulling? Here is the short version.
How a pull works: A tractor or truck hooks to a weight transfer sled at the starting line and tries to pull it as far down the track as possible. As the sled moves, weight shifts forward onto its skid pan, adding resistance — the farther you go, the harder it gets. Whoever pulls the sled the farthest in their class wins.
Classes: UPM runs a number of classes for different vehicle types and modification levels — you will typically see class names like PF (Pro Farm), TWD (Two Wheel Drive), and SS FWD (Super Stock Four Wheel Drive) on the schedule and results pages, alongside others local to Minnesota pulling. Each class has its own rules for weight, engine modifications, and tires.
Following a pull day: Check the Schedule page for the day's events and classes, then follow along on the Results page as pulls are posted. Season-long standings for each class are on the Points page.
From the first hook to the last pass, every class brings its own mix of horsepower, engineering, and driver skill. Pick an event, bring your crew, and experience it trackside.
